In this gripping short documentary, we meet a former Israeli soldier and a former member of the resistance in the Occupied Palestinian Territories who have renounced violence to try and find a peaceful solution to conflict through a group called Combatants for Peace. In a meeting of the organization, we see how former enemies who have lost loved ones are able to see past their tragic pasts by focusing on their common humanity.

If both sides involved in war met each other face to face instead of across a battlefield I don't think war would still exist. Different people across the world have different ideas, values, opinions, but when you break it down we are all just human beings. Except for the right to exist and live as you wish, what is worth dying for?

I can't stop crying after seeing this, my heartbreaks for all the families on all sides who have lost love ones. I do pray for all, every time i see bombing in restaurants, cars, home,streets, buildings. We also have lost so many sons, daughters, fathers, grandchildren. i can't understand how people can hate me (American) and not know me. It's hard to hate someone after you've met them. There are evil men who start wars and good men who die fighting them. LET'S ALL PRAY FOR PEACE!

This film makes me cry... if only those who are in government, In Israel, in Hamas, in Fatah and in all the other groups around the world could see this too, then maybe peace will have a chance. This is my prayer.

This film, Combatants for Peace, was one of the most touching films I had the pleasure to see during the Pangeo Day event. It is one of many good films shown, but certainly a treasure in its own right. I would like to say how

It was very moving to have us all together to share these things. It's very refreshing to see people around the world recognizing what unites us. However, I was left with a bad feeling after seeing how Yonathan was treated

a very touching film. and i am happy that enemies are uniting against violence and for peace. but i think one important thing is being ignored here. what causes the hatred? from both sides, religion plays a big role in this.
Dear Moyameehaa, Hatred is also a religion, People gladly accept it in their hearts, they hold on to it for dear life, they refuse to let it go, (even when apologized to), or are begged for forgiveness, they worship it with their dying words. No one can make peace with a person like this, they refuse because they enjoy their hatred so much. Only a personal relationship with God is strong enough to break that yoke. PEACE & LOVE
Truly amazing to watch the 2 former enemies 'talk' through their differences and show that it is people, not governments, that will resolve confict. I am inspired to do something. Thank you.

The Isreali man said that his mother and brother were both shot this very morning? PLEASE tell us that they were not killed. That would be FAR too difficult to understand.
they didnt get killed, his mother was wounded on her leg or feed, his sister i dont know. the israeli army used rubber bullets, bullets with kind of plastic around it.
